Forever curious, that's the short version. I'm an AI Engineer based in Johannesburg, and this is where I write about my personal projects and research papers. Over the past eleven years I've gone from digital journalism, to marketing operations, to spending most of my time these days deep in production AI systems, and I started this site to document that journey and share the rabbit holes I go down outside my day job.

Lately I'm obsessed with systems that actually have to earn trust once they're live, not just in a demo: hybrid search and grounded generation, transparent scoring layers, structure-aware chunking, cost-aware API orchestration, that sort of thing. A few things I've been building: LeadSignal (rules plus Claude enrichment for RevOps), DocSignal (semantic Q&A over policy corpora), and client-side ONNX inference for real-time computer vision.

On the side, I'm finishing a Bachelor of Business Information Systems at STADIO, picked up a Higher Certificate in Software Development along the way (nine distinctions out of ten, quietly proud of that one), and I'm tinkering with StruktLab in my spare time, a delivery platform for the AEC industry covering RFIs, submittals, drawings, and project health. Still forever curious about what's next.
